D. Bird grew up in a small town in the Northwest corner of Washington State, a place known for its football program and farming community—two things he wasn’t particularly fond of. As an act of rebellion, he immersed himself in hip-hop, a genre that wasn’t part of his upbringing. With restricted access to MTV, he relied on XXL magazines and 30-second album previews to influence his parents to buy edited rap albums. His passion for rap music was ignited by Eminem’s “My Name Is,” and further fueled by discovering underground artists like Eyedea and Atmosphere through Napster, which expanded his understanding of what rap could be.
Present
Today, D. Bird is a key figure in the White Collar Rhymes community, a platform he has helped build for artists to share their music, collaborate, and improve their craft through feedback. After finding initial success in the corporate world, he stepped away from music, but a rekindled connection with a former collaborator from Rapbattles.com brought him back into the scene. Now, his focus is on creating and fostering a vibrant, supportive environment for other artists. Known for his quirky personality, D. Bird can often be found promoting Little Caesars Pizza, making playful songs about celebrity crushes, and pitching wild ideas in Discord.
What's Next
